FLEMINGTON, N.J. – Another set of champions were crowned on Sunday across the 12U and 14U divisions. Six teams won the title, three of which will continue their season at Atlantic Affiliate Qualifiers and Championships.
The standout game of the day was in the 12U-A National division where the Ramapo Saints squeezed out a 3-2 victory against Brick Hockey Club. In the first period, it looked like Brick would dominate the game following two back-to-back goals at the nine-minute mark.
The Saints fought hard, but defense and goaltending from Brick remained strong. It wasn’t until 2:29 to go in the second period that the Saints managed to score their first goal on a power play. A minute later they managed to score a second one and tie up the game to end the second period.
The third period was a battle nearly all the way. With 3:05 to go, Cole Fazio of the Saints managed to put one past the netminder and secure the championship title.
